  • Thick poha (flattened rice)
  • Mustard seeds
  • Cumin seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • Turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • Peanuts
  • Oil
  • Asafoetida (hing)
  • Dry red chilies
  • Dried coconut slices (optional)
  • Citric acid or lemon powder

Steps by steps guide of Poha Mix Recipe

  1. Prepare the Base:
  • Dry roast thick poha until it turns crispy. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and asafoetida.
  • Once the seeds splutter, add curry leaves, dry red chilies, peanuts, and dried coconut slices.
  • Add turmeric powder and salt, mix well.
  1. Combine:
  • Mix the roasted poha with the prepared tempering.
  • Add citric acid or lemon powder for a tangy flavor.
  • Let the mixture cool down completely.

  • Store the ready-to-eat poha mix in an airtight container.

  • To prepare, just add hot water to the poha mix, cover, and let it sit for a few minutes until the poha softens.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander, and serve with a squeeze of lemon and sev (optional).
